Our precious Little Bear was not feeling up to par yesterday for most of the day. He didn't feel like eating yesterday and he slept alot and isolated. He didn't want to go for a walk was is so unlike him. He wasn't acting like his cute self. So today early, I noticed he was still indisposed. I started feeling like I needed to get him into the vet. I started thinking about that he was nine years old and he had been in fantastic health all of his life. I started worrying about what could have happened to make him sick. So I got on the phone to my regular vet. Due to the population explosion in Clovis from all the new Cannon Air Force folks being stationed here; it has been difficult to get certain things done in the timely way that I'm used to.
I called our vet and they were booked and could not get him in today. I called another vet; same situation. Then I called another vet that I am less familiar with and was able to set an appointment today. While waiting for the appointment time, I watched Little Bear. I offered some cheese to him and he took it. That was encouraging. He also was hungry for more. I called the vet back and told them that I was going to watch Bear closely but that for now, I wanted to cancel the appointment. I told her I may be calling back if I see that Bear is still feeling badly. Fortunately, that was not the case. When my husband came home from work, Bear was his cute and little bouncey self all excited about his best partner being home.
A relief to me. Bear ate some dinner and also wanted to go for a walk. Despite the weather north and south of us, we went out for a walk. We're having some thunderstorms north of us as well as south of us. Anyplace around Amarillo, you can bet will be heavy with the storms in spring and summer.
When rain comes, I welcome it - I call it free water for our lawn, flowers and vegetable plants.
