Early November

I have been so busy.   I catch myself coming and going.  Classes, the knit group (jewelry group for me), other assundry gatherings, trying to get things working for repair of the house (where is that guy who is supposed to be working on the garage door as well as damage to the laundry room!?).  Greg and I went to Amarillo to a Toyota dealership and bought us a bright red 2010 Toyota Yaris Sedan with lots of bells and whistles.    Our drive from Amarillo to Clovis took only a measley 1/8th of a tank (110 miles).  That was the prime goal, folks.

I'll have to say I wasn't ready to say goodbye to my beloved 2003 Toyota Corolla (that I had bought new in Anchorage).  There were still a few things that I didn't know about it and discovered the last day I saw it.  I knew I had one good outlet for my cell phone charger; but I didn't know that I had another outlet that was put in the CD box.  I was glad to see on the new car that they have put drink holders up level with the steering wheel.  In the 2003 Toyota, I had two drink holders and it was often a clumsy endeavor to put my cups of latte down and bump them on the edge of the cupholder and have rivers of latte going back and forth between the two cup holders.  I have driven Toyotas for ever.  I think the company makes great cars.

I'm excited about the holidays.  I have been scheduled along with a friend to teach a jewelry-making class to the Baxter Curran Senior Center folks next Friday.  I thihk that will be great fun.  I hope to enliven the subject to the ladies and to make the process sound as fun and exciting as it has been for me.

Thanksgiving will be a trip to Dallas and Houston.  I got waylaid with the plans because of a very necessary Chemistry class that I must attend on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.  So that means we have to change the schedule from flying out on Monday to Wednesday before Thanksgiving and being back the next Sat or Sun.  We're hoping to have a long drawn out leisurely December vacation time.  Time to fly out to see friends Angela and John in Las Vegas. Before we fly out, perhaps get to go down to Ruidoso and see friends and then drive on down to Las Cruces to see our friends: Claire, Bill and Jean.  Bill, Claire and Jean are at this moment in time, preparing to leave Clovis permanently and move to Las Cruces.  Greg and I look forward to seeing them in their new home and give the LC area a thorough look-at in December.
