What's Happening

The look onward to the holidays celebrated in Houston TX, Las Vegas NV and Las Cruces NM.   School coming to an end toward the end of the first week of December.  Yeah!  Having lots of fun in the interim so I can hit it hard for the Spring 2010 semester.  Got invited to teach a jewelry-making workshop at the Baxter-Curran Senior Center; delighted to be doing this!  Very excited about it!  I passed my CPR test for giving CPR to adults, children and infants and that's exciting.  Next comes up First Aid Skills (all required for Nursing prereq) and certification for that.

The SUV accident crashing into our garage has been over for three weeks and negotiations for replacement for my 2003 Toyota Corolla (much beloved) ~ bought brand new in Anchorage ~ but had 59,000 miles on it, is on the wing. We've always used Greg's 2004 Toyota Echo for long trips to Las Vegas and Houston (since his car got such great gas mileage).  Replacement will be either a Prius or the equivalent to the Toyota Echo (a new Yaris) --- the focus being on cheap gas bills!

A friendly acquaintance who I met earlier this year has become a good friend.  My friend, Claire will be leaving Clovis for Las Cruces in late November.  I understand the motivations as I have some of the same.  I'm really going to miss her.  Wish we were able to move down there at the same time they are.  Lots more to do, etc.  I'm watching the USAJOBS for military installation jobs in Southern NM.  We'll see if anything becomes available. School transfers in nursing will also be a consideration to look at.
