Words to Live By

Every once in a while, I run across words that speak to me....  that I find true to my life.  These are the words that speak to me; that I know to be true.

"Our prayers are answered not when we are given what we ask, but when we are challenged to be what we can be."     -- Morris Adler
"The ultimate value of life depends upon awareness and the power of contemplation rather than upon mere survival."    -- Aristotle
"Insight occurs when, and to the degree that, one knows oneself."  -- Andrew Schneider
"...self-contempt never inspires lasting change."     -- Jane R. Hirschmann and Carol H. Munter
"The first step toward change is acceptance. Once you accept yourself, you open the door to change. That's all you have to do. Change is not something you do, it's something you allow."-- Will Garcia
"Your only limitations are those you set up in your mind, or permit others to set up for you."
-- Og Mandino
"Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude."     ......  Denis Waitley
"Life is a narrative that you have a hand in writing."    -- Henriette Anne Klauser
"I want you to get excited about who you are, what you are, what you have, and what can still be for you. I want to inspire you to see that you can go far beyond where you are right now."   -- Virginia Satir
