I am enjoying Chemistry. I was just sharing with a friend a few minutes ago, that the sky is blue because the chemical element, O (oxygen) is blue. This kind of thing is something on the periphery of what I've learned in Chemistry. I've had just an excellent teacher for this course, who makes a complex subject understandable. Great teachers like this gentleman, make other teachers pale by comparison. The kinds of things learned in this course are in the periodical chart, the number by the chemical is the # of electrons it has. An atom has three dimensions just as a human body has three dimensions. Contained within the energy levels of an atom, are sub-levels with electrons moving in several different kinds of rotations ~ on an xyz axis, it can have a spherical rotation as well as other kinds of rotations. It's quite intriguing and I'm having no problems (much to my amazement) catching on to this material and retaining it.
I am also taking CPR and First Aid (as prereq for Nursing). The CPR is very interesting. We have been taught how to give CPR to an infant, a child and an adult. I have been real easy on myself on coursework as to how many courses I take at one time. These four semester hour courses x 2 + 1 (2 or 3 semester hour courses) are a full load; and I have heard that it's very easy to get behind (with tests every week) in the four semester hour courses. I will take another 4 semester hour course as well as two or three 3 semester hour courses that I need to complete.
After all the excitement over the SUV running into our garage and car and laundry room, there have been a few more small things aside from the dealing with adjusters ~ our garbage disposal stopped working ~ had to get that fixed then next water came pouring out below the dishwasher today. These are truly minutia. I'm anxious to get everything settled with insurance co and get another car and be back focused on getting these classes completed.
